There are more interesting things...
Well, I'm sure that people don't want to just read about my sore throats and my little brother. So I'm making an 'event' that people will hopefully begin to look forward to!
It'll be called Talent Thursday!
Every Thursday, I'll be posting crafts/D.I.Y. crafts that are necessarily easy to do. And if you can do it, it's talent! Even if you make mistakes. :)
Hey, wait! It's Thursday!
So that means I've got to put up a craft!
This weeks craft is:
Snowman Ornaments! Because if you have your Christmas Tree up, why wouldn't you want these ADORABLE things up on your tree?
HEY! HERE IS MINE!
Isn't it totally adorable? They were super fun (and SO easy!) to make.
This is what you need. :)
- A glass ball ornament, or plastic if you can find one.
- Paint or Sharpie to make the face.
- A baby sock to make the hat.
- Glue. (Will explain later.)
- Ribbon/String (To decorate/hang it up.)
- Fake snow.
- A sewing needle.
- And Paintbrushes! (EVEN IF YOU USE SHARPIE!)
- Take your ornament and unscrew/pull off the top. Fill it with fake snow. If you aren't using a funnel to get the snow in there, your hands will get quite itchy... I suggest you use a funnel!
- Put the top back on.
- CAREFULLY pull the baby sock over the head and leave a small/medium circle for the face.
- Take a paintbrush that you will not use for paint and dip it in glue. Lift up the end of the baby sock and glue the edges to make sure the sock will not fall off. Press down the sock lightly.
- Paint/draw on the face.
- Grab your sewing needle and thread string through it. Sew a loop at the top of the sock so you can hang it up.
- (Optional) Put ribbon around the sock to be decorative. We did it with ribbon that said "Jesus Loves Me." Sweet, right?
And... Walla! Snowman Ornament!
I hope you enjoyed the first Talent Thursday! Leave any suggestions for next Talent Thursday in the comments!
